The John Rothwell Trophy - Framed 550 High.pngIt was decided this year to award a trophy to the Most Improved Bowler of the previous year.  At around the same time we heard the sad news that of one of our popular bowlers, John Rothwell, had died and it was suggested that the trophy be named after him.  His widow Liz was asked if she would like for this to happen and she readily agreed.

While in England Liz purchased the cup which can be seen here and which will be presented to the winner, together with a smaller trophy which will be retained.

This year’s winner was Carol Edmands.

Fun Day 28th June

The above event was held in very hot conditions and despite a very low turn out in support of it from Club Members the day was a success.

Thanks go to all the Club Members who helped in setting up the equipment and attending the event. Thanks also go to the Mimosa Hotel for advertising the event to their Hotel Guests of whom many participated on the day. Special thanks to Bob Rigby who supplied and set up the Darts, Made the Hoops, supplied the Golf equipment and probably spent the most money on entering the competitions but won sod all.

Congratulation go to the Winners of the various events: Club Members- Fred J, Brian S, Jan R, Peter T, Kevin M, Kath F and Bob S from Kiti who all won a Bottle of wine each. Susana a hotel guest was a big winner taking away 3 Bottles. Well done!!

The biggest winner on the day was the Club as we raised 163 Euros.  (Please click on the images below)
